The book “Writers of Victory History: Martyrs of Kangarli” by Almaniz Alakbarli, a member of the Union of Writers and Journalists of Azerbaijan, was presented at the Kangarli District Palace of Culture. Martyrs’ families, veterans, intellectuals, officials and public representatives took part in the event held on this occasion.
First, bouquets of flowers were placed in front of the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s monument and the Martyrs’ Complex in Qivrag settlement.
At the event, the dear memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.
Then there was a viewing of the film dedicated to the Patriotic War.
At the presentation ceremony, writer-journalist, author of the book Almaniz Alakbarli said that Nakhchivan has always been distinguished by its commanders and military heroes. It was emphasized that the heroic sons of Kangarli region were distinguished by their valor in the First Karabakh War and the Patriotic War. Our sons of the country, united like a fist around our victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, have written a heroic epic. The author pointed out that the book contains information about 63 Kangarli martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of our lands. He said that the lives of our martyrs, childhood and youth years, glorious battles and photos related to those moments were included in separate chapters of the book.
In his speech, Samraddin Ahmadov, the father of the martyr Major Elbrus Ahmadov, valued the book as a great contribution to the perpetuation of the memory of our heroic sons. Expressing his gratitude to the author of the book, the martyr’s father noted that we should study and promote the life of each of our martyrs, the way of fighting, especially to the younger generation. “Our victory did not come suddenly. The training of an officer means sleepless nights, waiting, suffering of a parent”, said Samraddin Ahmadov.
Later, the chairman of “Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Television and Radio Broadcasts” CJSC Sahil Tahirli, head of the Kangarli District Education Department Emin Mammadkhanli and head of the Kangarli District Executive Power Kamal Alakbarov spoke at the event. It was emphasized that the victory won in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief, a follower of the great leader Heydar Aliyev’s political line, showed the struggle, invincibility and unity of the Azerbaijani people to the world. They valued the book, which contains the battle path of 63 Kangarli martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country, and rose to the peak of martyrdom, as an example of patriotism. It was emphasized that our state pays great attention and care to the families of martyrs. In the past 10 years alone, 120 apartments and 280 passenger cars were given to families of martyrs, veterans and other privileged persons in Nakhchivan. Our territorial integrity, Karabakh, which has become a great building site, and the Zangezur corridor are the masterpieces of our victorious Commander-in-Chief, his brave officers and soldiers, our heroic martyrs and veterans.
In the end, the book “Zafar history writers: Martyrs of Kangarli” was presented to the martyrs’ families.
