Yes to the quota
The situation has not changed since 2016, as all the representatives of the Hungarian left supported the proposal regarding the mandatory distribution of migrants, which was accepted by the majority decision of the EU Council of Interior Ministers last week.
Attila Ara-Kovács, Katalin Cseh, Klára Dobrev, Anna Donáth, Márton Gyöngyösi, Csaba Molnár, Sándor Rónai and István Ujhelyi also said yes to the mandatory migrant quota.
Meanwhile, they deny the existence of the quota plan. “This is not true, this is a lie,” said Gergely Arató from DK, who says that there will be no mandatory transfer to Hungary. And Klára Dobrev said that there was no decision in Brussels about the distribution.

In the future, all member states, including Hungary, will be obliged to accept migrants arriving in the European Union, and the applications of a third of those arriving will have to be assessed in Hungary.
Those who do not do this can expect a severe penalty, 22 thousand euros, i.e. eight million forints, must be paid for each unaccepted illegal immigrant. According to the current plan, our country may be obliged to accept at least 8,500 and even 30,000 migrants annually; if we are not willing to do so, it could mean a maximum penalty of HUF 250 billion per year.
