Martinique firefighters manage Martinique’s 1st vaccinodrome

388 people registered at the Vaccinodrome in the Lamentin Sports Hall. With the collaboration of the prefecture, the ARS and the city of Lamentin, the STIS (territorial fire and rescue service) of Martinique is the first to manage a vaccinodrome overseas.


The vaccination record is already full as soon as the Vaccinodrome in the Lamentin Sports hall opens tomorrow morning (Wednesday March 31, 2021). 388 people have already registered to receive their first injection of the Covid-19 vaccine.

In a press release, the ARS (regional health agency) of Martinique, announced the opening of this vaccinodrome from tomorrow, from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm.

It will be open including during the Easter holidays to anyone who has taken the time to register.

This vaccinodrome was designed and is managed by the STIS (territorial fire and rescue service), with the collaboration of the Prefecture, the Regional Health Agency and the city of Lamentin.

The STIS teams designed and assembled this device. 20 firefighters including three doctors will be on site every day. Nurses will vaccinate those registered in advance. I invite all those in a position to be vaccinated to do so.

This device is aimed particularly at the following audiences:
• People over 70 years old,
• People over 18 years of age with comorbidities or with a high-risk pathology of severe form of Covid-19
Health and elderly professionals.

To date, specifies the ARS, 15,890 doses of vaccine (1st and 2nd injections) have already been administered in Martinique. The objective of this structure is to speed up vaccination in order to contain an epidemic which is gaining ground.
