Martínez deal in the world: Man Utd will pay almost 60 million

Ajax has already confirmed what has been speculated for a long time: Manchester United will acquire Argentine stopper Lisandro Martínez if they agree on a contract and pass a medical examination, for which he has reportedly already flown out. In addition, Ajax specified the transfer amount – it is 57.37 million euros and a potential additional 10 million in bonuses.

Martínez moved to Amsterdam from Argentina in 2019 and still had a valid contract with Ajax until 2025.

In total, he made 120 competitive starts for Godenzonen and was named the club’s player of the year this year. He won two titles with Ajax and won the Dutch Cup once.

Shortly after Ajax, the agreement was confirmed by Manchester United itself, which also expects visas for the stopper with reserve experience. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Martínez is set to sign a five-year contract with an option for another.

Martínez will become The Hague’s third Man Utd signing, but he will not travel to Australia with the rest of the team – instead, he will remain in England and prepare individually with Christian Eriksen for the time being. The remaining rookie on the team is Dutch defenseman Tyler Malacia.

The season for the Red Devils begins on August 7 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
