The bikini photo was taken by her husband during a day at the sea. Filip is clearly proud of it and shared it on social media. “No problem for me”, says Martine. “Why should I feel any embarrassment? I used to pose many times as a model for lingerie photo shoots. So I do have some experience. And maybe it’s not appropriate to say that about yourself, but given my age, I think I’m still allowed to be there. Yes, time has been kind to me.

The fact that I used to take ballet and judging gymnastics probably plays a part, but I also maintain myself well. Every day I jog for 30 to 45 minutes with my dog Lester and afterwards I sometimes go for a swim. We also regularly take the dog for a walk. So those steps are also added.”

‘Cafe Beveren’
‘Pension has its advantages’, writes Martine with the photos by the sea. “That was a joke because I don’t feel retired yet,” she continues. “I will also continue to work professionally. At the end of this year, for example, I will start rehearsals for the comedy ‘Café Beveren’ and I also have a few other plans. Yet sometimes I do ‘feel’ retired. Due to the disappearance of the recordings for ‘Family’, there seems to be a little more time for pure improvisation since a few months. Sudden desire to go to sea and then be able to leave immediately. If you have a busy shooting schedule or other commitments, it won’t work. Now you can. This time we even went to the coast two days in the same week. That was unthinkable in the past. In Zeebrugge we enjoyed a walk in the dunes and afterwards we celebrated our 42 years together in a cozy beach bar. A little later we visited Cadzand because our dog Lester, who has been the second man in my life for 11 years now, is also allowed on a leash on the beach. After all, that is not allowed everywhere. So the holidays have been going on for a while for us. (laughs)”
