After ten months, the pastorate of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Manching is now officially again occupied by a pastor – with Martin Michaelis.

Numerous representatives of the political market community, schools, the Catholic Church and Protestant members went to Christ Church in Donaufeld on Sunday to attend the ceremony to introduce Michaelis to his new office as pastor. The vacant pastorate had to be filled after Pastor Sieghart Schneider retired in 2021.

Born in Augusta in 1971

According to a document issued by the regional ecclesiastical council, on 1 September pastor Michaelis was entrusted with the responsibilities of the parish with about 1,000 parishioners. Martin Michaelis was born in Augsburg in 1971. He studied Protestant theology in Munich, Edinburgh, Göttingen and Marburg. The parish priest, who seems likeable, is aware that in addition to his pastoral work in the new pastorate, he will have other tasks, such as building the new nursery. With the laying on of hands on the head by Thomas Schwarz, dean of the Evangelical-Lutheran deanery of Ingolstadt in the presence, among others, of the retired pastor Rudolf Potengowski, and the solemn promise to assume the pastorate with all the posts, Michaelis he is officially parish priest of the whole Protestant parish of Manching.
