Martin Lepperød in a new TV 2 comedy series

P3 presenter and stand-up comedian Martin Lepperød (28) has hijacked the main role as Frans’ resident at home in TV 2’s upcoming comedy series, Bislett bnb.

The 28-year-old has previously appeared in series such as Kongen av Gulset and Blank.

The remaining main characters in the TV series are Johan Sigmundstad (27) in the role of the cynical gamer Simen and Giulia Hellesdatter Roi (28) in the role of the control freak and shopkeeper Bella.

– A cool and a bit absurd series

Bislett bnb deals with the three collective residents Frans, Simen and Bella, who love their collective at Bislett in Oslo, but struggle to pay the rent. The gang in their twenties need money.

The solution will be to rent out the sofa bed in the collective, and soon the subletting operation will start. The only challenge is that they rely on good reviews from guests to keep it going, and soon they find themselves in a situation where they have to fulfill the strangest wishes week after week. The three must constantly live by the motto “the customer is always right”, no matter how unreasonable and absurd the customer may be.

– It was absolutely fantastic fun to make a series where you got to help create fun characters, and play on recording. I am very proud of the young gang that has been working on a cool and somewhat absurd series about friendship and surviving together in this strange world, says Lepperød in a press release.

During the series’ ten episodes, several familiar faces will also appear in the roles of guests who book in on the sofa bed in the collective. Among the tenants are a newly divorced 40-year-old looking to experience adolescence, bank robbers on the run, a psychiatric patient and a comedian with a slightly excessive compulsion to parody.

Bislett bnb premieres on TV 2 Play this autumn.

TV 2 has tried to get a comment from Lepperød, but has so far not succeeded.

– A young and different TV 2 project

Bislett bnb is part of TV 2’s investment in humor drama. TV 2’s program editor thinks the series will both entertain and surprise.

– For us at TV 2, this has been an inspiring project to work with. Usually we make programs together with large, established production companies, but this time we focus on young, creative forces. It is sprouting and growing in the undergrowth in the TV industry, and it is good news for viewers who want new, Norwegian stories in the years to come, says Kathrine Haldorsen in the press release.

– Bislett bnb is a young and different TV 2 project, and this gang can probably surprise a classic TV 2 viewer. At the same time, there is a recognizable context, with collective life and rental costs. We have great faith that this series will capture and amuse our viewers, Haldorsen continues.

From the school desk to the TV screen

Bislett bnb was created during a bachelor thesis at Kristiania University College, formerly known as Westerdals, in 2017, where the series creators and screenwriters Eirik Skaufjord, Sondre Bilet and Kristian Alstrup wanted to create a new series concept. They wrote and directed one episode each to serve as pilot episodes. The same year, they won the pitch competition at the Nordic Series Days, before presenting the project to TV 2.

The series is produced by Ferdi film, and the producer is Henrik Borge. Ludvig Fjellberg is a production designer.
