Following the scandal surrounding Martin Bashir over his interview with Diana, Michael Jackson’s family are considering suing the journalist.
The truth has come to light after more than 26 years of doubt. The mother of princes William and Harry was indeed manipulated by journalist Martin Bashir in 1995. According to the results of the survey, the man in question blackmailed Lady Diana, by falsifying and providing him with false bank statements to obtain the interview which changed the image of the British royal family forever. Following this information, several family members of Michael Jackson, who died in 2009, told the Sunday Mirror, this Sunday, May 23, that they could consider attacking Martin Bashir in court. The reason: the documentary Living With Michael Jackson, unveiled in 2003, during which the King of Pop allowed cameras to be filmed at his Neverland ranch.
During his special show, reporter confronted Michael Jackson about his relationship with the children and allegations of child abuse brought against him at the time. Singer’s nephew Taj Jackson accused Martin Bashir of shamefully using footage “manipulated”, a practice which he qualifies as “unethical” journalists. Tito Jackson, the King of Pop’s brother, supports this theory and claims that “Michael and Diana were both victims of dark ambitions and dirty tricks [Martin] Bashir and [que celui-ci] ultimately pays the price “. Once again, the journalist’s behavior casts doubt on his practices.
A new trial for the Jackson family?
Facts which therefore resurface 18 years after the documentary was broadcast. For Taj Jackson, it’s time for justice: “The manipulated images of [Martin] Bashir and unethical journalism is one of the main reasons my uncle is not here today. “ He keeps on : “This lawsuit shattered him. Shame on those who covered [Martin] Bashir. Shame on those who rewarded him. My family also deserves an investigation and an apology. ” For the moment, Paris Jackson, the daughter of the late singer, has not commented on the facts.
