Martijn Koning finds the number of colleagues who supported him during the Jinek riot very disappointing. He is therefore happy with the pinprick that Marc-Marie Huijbregts handed out to Eva Jinek.
It will never work out between Eva Jinek and Martijn Koning. The presenter was furious this spring about the roast that the comedian pronounced about Thierry Baudet in her program. The politician angrily walked away from the table and that made Eva feel like a bad hostess. Martijn has now made it a sport to insult Eva.
Marc-Marie against Eva
Martijn never received much acclaim, although Marc-Marie Huijbregts tried a day later to to soothe a little at her talk show table. “You also have sympathy for Martijn, don’t you?” he asked her.
Eva then told a whole story about the rules of the game at her talk show table and that Martijn changed them with his own hands. Marc-Marie then: “I understand that, but that doesn’t answer my question at all. My question: you also think Martijn is a sympathetic boy, don’t you?”
To that Eve replied painfully: “Uhh, I’m not happy about this. This causes a lot of damage for this program and for what we make and I am really disappointed about that. So I’m not there right now… Yeah, I’m not that busy right now.”
Martijn praises Marc-Marie
Martijn is happy that Marc-Marie jumped in the breach for him then, he says in the AD. “Dolf Jansen, Maarten van Rossem, gave me support. Sander Schimmelpenninck wrote a great column. Reverend Gremdaat, in other words Paul Haenen, responded. Very bright, very nice, very cool.”
He continues: “Look, they don’t have to go all out at a talk show table. But a few pinpricks, like Marc-Marie Huijbregts did, was enough.”
Week in
After the conscious broadcast of Jinek and the media storm that erupted, Martijn stayed inside for a week. “But you have to go to the supermarket once. The first time on the street was surreal. From the moment I walked out until I got back, all the people complimented me. It almost made me feel emo.”
“Still, I keep looking around. You can be so tough, I realize very well that you could have just played somewhere and then walk past the wrong cafe.”
