King arrived last month to be under attack after he made fun of politician Thierry Baudet in Jinek. Koning joked, among other things, about the alleged anti-Semitism in Forum for Democracy and Baudet’s statements about ‘homeopathic dilution’ of the Dutch people. Baudet then left the broadcast prematurely.
Both RTL and Jinek distanced themselves from the content. The comedian claimed that he did offer Jinek to read the column in advance. “She has not accepted that invitation. And two is that the editors were well aware of the purport of the column. RTL said earlier that it had repeatedly asked about the content of the column. “The editors should have made the choice not to let Martijn Koning perform.
