Martien’s ‘racist lamp’ sparks outrage among ‘Chateau Meiland’ viewers | TV

The Meiland family currently resides in Hengelo in the Netherlands on a beautiful farm with a value of 900,000 euros. In their domain, the recordings for the fourth season of ‘Chateau Meiland’ are in full swing, which depicts the move from France to the Netherlands. Their castle in France is still for sale for 1.25 million euros.

In this week’s episode, viewers were shown how Martien Meiland receives a load of furniture for their new home, including a large floor lamp. “It is very expensive, but I think it is worth it,” Martien says about the copy. The lamp is a sculpture of a black man with a candlestick on his head and according to Martien it is his new showpiece. Not all viewers can understand that pride.
