Martien Meiland was knocked down on Christmas Eve by Robert ten Brink. The hysterical reality star records his least-watched Christmas special ever, while All You Need Is Love proudly stands up.
Whatever you put in to it: Christmas Eve is and will remain the domain of the annual All You Need Is Love Christmas special with Robert ten Brink. Yesterday he captivated 2.1 million people (37% market share) with his romantic show on RTL 4, which is almost fifty thousand more than last year.
Martien collapses
Martien Meiland is the one who does take a lot of Christmas hits. He managed to captivate ‘only’ 783 thousand viewers (14%) with the annual Christmas special of Chateau Meiland, which is much less than last year, when more than 1 million people watched. The year before, in 2019, the Christmas special was good for 954 thousand viewers.
In both years, De Slimste Mens also participated on Christmas Eve. That was also the number two yesterday, after All You Need Is Love. The NPO 2 knowledge quiz came out with a score of 1.1 million viewers (18%).
Bronze for film
The bronze was not for SBS 6, but for NPO 1. That channel also captivated more viewers than the Meilandjes, namely with the film De Slag om de Schelde, which was watched by 841 thousand people (15 percent).
Late in the evening, after All You Need, RTL 4 still attracted 536 thousand viewers (14%) with the proposal round of B&B Vol Liefde. That daily dating show will return to the tube in the summer.
Daily titles that don’t make the top fifteen include Shownieuws (481 thousand), HLF8 (257 thousand) and Deal or no Deal (57 thousand).
