David Dvořák, one of four Czech representatives among the elite, entered the roundabout with great motivation and gusto, eager to atone for his March defeat to Brazilian Matheus Nicolau. At this year’s last tournament of the most famous cage fighting organization, he welcomed twelve flyweight Manel Kape, which was a very tough bite even for the coaches.
This is also why a relatively cautious pass began at the very beginning of the fight, in which more than a minute was waited for a full-fledged blow. Both fighters were moving, looking for the appropriate distance and trying to seriously threaten the heat. After several exchanges, Dvořák managed to knock his opponent down under him, but surprisingly the seemingly advantageous situation didn’t turn into a nightmare.
Kape, with a lot of patience, found a hole for the arm lever, which he liked in all possible angles. The breath of the fans stopped and in some moments it seemed that the upper limb of the Czech fighter was about to break. But the determined warrior from Hořice showed a big heart and refused to beat the end of the match. His hand survived, but his condition was later checked by doctors, who allowed Dvořák to continue.
Also in the second round, the Czech striker had a lot of problems. The motivated opponent pushed him against the net, even forced him to scream loudly and fall on his ass to the ground with a goal kick. Again Dvořák did not give up, barely survived another hellish situation and dared to surprise his opponent by strangling him at the least expected moment. He was a long way from reaching Kape and before the last five minutes it was clear that Dvořák had to win before the limit.
The tactics were then obvious. Dvořák staked everything on one card, tried to be more active, put pressure on his rival, but in vain looked for a way to something surprising. Furthermore, Kape looked fresh even at the end of the match, indulging in confident dances and smiling moments with his hands behind his back. In short, he didn’t let the Czech fighter do anything and, after the decision of the point judges, won unanimously on points.
For Dvořák, this is the second defeat in a row and he will most likely disappear from the division’s elite ten flies. Also important will be the post-match condition of the upper limb, which the opponent has gripped so powerfully. Conversely, Angolan Kape grabbed his third consecutive win and is moving into an increasingly favorable position in the standings.
“I’m very sorry I didn’t make it. I left everything there and I wouldn’t give it up for the world. Unfortunately, winning wasn’t enough,” Dvořák wrote shortly on his social media. after the match.
