He has been involved in martial arts for almost thirty years and in 2018 he reached the imaginary pinnacle of what can be achieved: a title in the UFC. Already 34-year-old Khabib Nurmagomedov finished his career as a professional fighter as befits and belongs, i.e. in the spotlight with the champion belt of the most famous fighting organization UFC, which he held for more than three years. In this journey, he not only defeated the famous Conor McGregor, but in twenty-nine fights he has never felt the bitterness of defeat.
In 2021, the MMA world had to deal with the cruel news that Nurmagomedov was ending his career as a wrestler, and instead of being in the cage, viewers got the opportunity to see him in the coach’s corner for several long months. For example, he helped the successor of Islam Makhachev to the throne of the champion, beating the Brazilian Charles Oliveira.
And as the available information suggests, the legendary fighter has decided to completely leave the world of combat sports. A post on social networks started speculation. “In the end, 2022 turned out to be a successful year. Take care brothers. I hope my decision is only for the best. Thank you, you were the main reason for my success in sports,” Nurmagomedov wrote.
Foreign sources were immediately clear. “Khabib is leaving the MMA industry. He is about coaching and everything that goes with it. The reason is Khabib’s desire to devote more time to his family,” write the Russian servers, according to which the 34-year-old Russian will give up his position as the promoter of his own fighting organization Eagle FC. In addition, the former fighter has never hid his very strong family ties. On a recent visit to Canada, he repeated what everything means to him, mother: “Mother is everything to me, I treat her like a queen,” he stressed.

His departure, it seems, is a done deal, and the fight scene will forever lose a resounding name that resonated well even after the end of his professional career. It was no secret that Khabib had repeatedly left the idea of a comeback in his head, which ultimately did not happen.
After training, speculation is rife that Nurmagomedov will take part in UFC 284 on February 12 in Perth, where his protégé Islam Makhachev will challenge for the second belt against Australian featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. It still doesn’t look very realistic.
