Marta Minujin was awarded at the age of 79 at the Latin America Lifetime Awards

The signal Lifetime joined the International Women’s Day celebrations with the delivery of the Latin America Lifetime Awards (LALA 2022) in an emotional and inspiring virtual award ceremony.

It was carried out via streaming on the channel YouTube of the signal last Thursday, March 3, in which the talent, trajectory, legacy and human contribution of five Latin American women who are making history in their professions were recognized.

The ceremony led by Cesar Sabroso, Senior VP of Marketing and PR of A+E Networks Latin America, was attended by the five women distinguished by Lifetime in this second edition.

She is: the renowned plastic artist Marta Minujín (Argentina); Afro-urban and Afro-pop singer Margareth Menezes (Brazil); the professional soccer player Christiane Endler (Chile), the scientist and Science Program Manager at NASA’s Science Mission Directorate (SMD), Dr. Adriana Ocampo C. Uria (Colombia;) and the singer, anthropologist and philanthropist Lila Downs (Mexico).

All of them have stood out for their perseverance and tireless work to achieve their dreams and at the same time have pushed the borders and carried, beyond their countries of origin, the name of Latin America around the world.

The Latin America Lifetime Awards were created with the purpose of paying a well-deserved tribute to women who with their example empower other women, who with their achievements, trajectory and testimony have managed to break paradigms and serve as inspiration, who represent the challenges, struggles and achievements of Latin American women in the world.

With an emotional introductory video, one by one the five women honored with the Latin America Lifetime Awards thanked for receiving this recognition from Lifetime and shared their thoughts about being outstanding, successful women and an example for their female peers around the world .

Possessing great talent and an unparalleled charisma, the plastic artist Marta Minujín was the first winner to give her word and expressed her vision of female art today.

“We have come so far that the participation of women in art is going to change the history of universal art a lot. There are so many fine women artists who have entered the art world and changed history. Before, people used to say ‘she is a woman’s art’. But not now. Now no one even makes a difference, because art has no gender, ”explained the 79-year-old artist, who also commented that she first married art and now she will marry immortality.
