Marta González made a deep reflection on her illness and the death of her son

Marta González was one of the guests at Mirtha Legrand’s “big table” this Saturday, September 7. The actress fondly remembered Selva Alemán, her close friend who passed away this week, and spoke about other griefs she went through throughout her life.

“This year, God willing, I will be 80 years old,” Martha explained, adding that she is going through metastasis. It should be remembered that González suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and cancer three times in recent years. “I take it all with joy,” she reflected.

After revealing that she is taking medication, the artist joked: “Can’t you tell? I’m fatter, I’m 15 or 20 kilos overweight.” Leaving aside the joking tone, Betiana Blum expressed her deep admiration for her colleague: “You have vitality, Marta, energy…”

When Mirtha Legrand spoke about the loss of her son, the actress said: “I suffered a lot, but the loss of my son was terrible. I truly believe, and I told this to Arturo Puig, that death does not exist. When I need Leandro and I want to talk to him, he is with me. I know it.”

“Death is a pass, it doesn’t mean that life ends. Life goes on. We are in a place of learning here, in a little school,” added Blum. “I wanted to see my son grow up, but he is not here. It is terrible to lose a loved one, those absences,” added Legrand.

Pía Shaw then quoted Benjamín Vicuña, who lost his little daughter Blanca: “He said that pain never goes away, but rather it transforms and one learns to live with it in order to be able to move on with life.”

“The day Selva died I was with Arturo and when I got home I cried like crazy. Afterwards I went to a concert by Cecilia Milone and had lunch. Life goes on. On social media someone asked me why I was doing that, if I had forgotten about Selva… Are you going to tell me what mourning is? Please,” concluded Marta González.

Finally, the actress made it clear that the theatre is her great refuge to be able to forget for a while about the difficult things she is going through at the moment.
