Marseille: the lifeless body of a 12-year-old boy was found on the banks of the Huveaune

The lifeless body of a 12-year-old child was found on Saturday 29 October 2022 on the banks of the Huveaune River, in Marseille, wearing “stab wounds”, the accusation announced to the AFP.

The child, autistic according to his uncle and aunt, who spoke instantly with the AFP, would have escaped the surveillance of his mother on Friday, during a walk. His disappearance was immediately reported to the police by the family, who discovered the body on Saturday.

The child has “stab wounds”, Marseille public prosecutor Dominique Laurens told AFP, also speaking of “many traces of blood on the journey to discover the body”.

The body was discovered by the child’s father and uncle, Ms. Laurens said, adding that the investigation was entrusted to the judicial police.

According to the uncle and aunt of the child with whom the AFP was able to speak on the spot, in the Capelette neighborhood, the latter escaped the surveillance of the mother on Friday around 16, after a walk.

Two reports

The family reported this missing to the police station at 5pm, then again around 10pm, the search still unsuccessful.

The family explained that they first found the baby’s jacket on Saturday, around 8.30am, on the banks of the Huveaune, before finally finding the body, around 1pm, still by the river, at the bottom of a steep slope. overhanging the water, in tall grass and bushes.
