French Ligue 1 giants Marseille have made a new proposal to Arsenal in their bid to sign Eddie Nketiah.
Marseille submitted their initial offer at the start of July, but it was significantly below the Gunners’ valuation of Nketiah.

Given his years of Premier League experience, Nketiah has seen his asking price set at a staggering £50million.
Aside from Marseille, Crystal Palace and Wolves have been linked with the 25-year-old, but it is Roberto De Zerbi’s side who are pushing hardest with a new offer sent to Arsenal.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein (via football.london), around £16.8m (€20m) is the value of Marseille’s second offer for Nketiah.
While still some way off the reported valuation, it is much closer to the formula Arsenal want and talks are expected to continue.
Arsenal have already sealed a major exit for an academy graduate with Emile Smith Rowe set to join Fulham in a deal worth up to £35m, football.london understands. The 24-year-old has since left Arsenal’s pre-season camp in America and completed his medical with the Cottagers.
While there is still work to be done regarding Nketiah, one key deal has already been reached, with the striker agreeing to a move to France after agreeing a five-year contract, as he is keen to join De Zerbi’s side.
Despite that, Nketiah continued to feature in Arsenal’s pre-season training, having played 82 minutes in the last two friendlies and the striker may have taken his own advice.
“Pre-season is really good for a lot of the lads who haven’t trained or played much with us to be able to show what they can do,” he told the club’s official website.
