The IUCN World Conservation Congress in Marseille marks an important time to explore and decide how we can restore our relationship with nature.
Along with these important decisions, there is a universal need for shared celebrations with nature. All life comes from the ocean, which is the planet’s greatest carbon sink, absorbing more than 90% of anthropogenic warming over the past 50 years. It is imperative that we not only protect it from destructive activities like bottom trawling and overfishing, but also recognize its fundamental contribution to tackling the climate crisis.
That is why we invite you to join us – alongside politicians, sports figures, scientists and members of the public in a celebration of the ocean to “ Dive for climate action ”.
Come and meet us at Prado Beach, with your swimsuit, at 8 a.m. on September 4.
