Christophe Boutry, nicknamed “<a href="http://www.world-today-news.com/the-former-dgsi-agent-sentenced-to-seven-years-in-prison-two-of-which-were-suspended/" title="the former DGSI agent sentenced to seven years in prison, two of which were suspended”>Haurus“, was sentenced to five years in prison for corruption by the Marseille court. While working within the DGSI, this police officer had sold information on the darknet that had benefited a group of drug traffickers.
The former DGSI agent Christophe Boutry sentenced, Thursday in Marseille, to five years in prison for corruptiona sentence he will not do since the court announced its confusion with an identical sentence imposed in 2021 in another part of the case.
Described by the prosecution as the leader of the Marignane criminal gang linked to the Marseille drug gang, Pascal Gomez Galeote, 44, was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of 40,000 euros. The court recognized it as the fault of the police officer stationed at the General Directorate of Internal Security who, under the pseudonym“Haurus” sold sensitive information from police files on the darknet in 2017 and 2018.
Pascal Gomez Galeote, who was accused in several cases related to organized crime, was arrested at the bar although he was released at the beginning of the month, by the decision of the Court of Cassation.
“It’s pathetic”
Me Naïri Zadourian, lawyer for Christophe Boutry, 38, asked the court not to pronounce a sentence but to recognize “Abolition of public action”because his client could not be tried twice for the same facts. “We are trying to make a new cake with the same ingredients”she pleaded acknowledging that the police officer’s actions were corrupt “They’re really heavy. What he did is pathetic, but he has already been convicted.”.
On Tuesday, the prosecutor asked for five years in prison against the former DGSI representative, and eight against Pascal Gomez Galeote who, according to the prosecutor, sent orders to the police officer through a series of inter- mediators. “Information is power, she had explained. You need to know if you want, to be able to make fake papers but also to know which vehicle your enemy is traveling in to protect yourself from him or even for something else maybe .”. One part of the case is still under investigation related to a criminal association to prepare the murder of nine enemies, leaders of rival gangs.
The court sentenced three intermediaries who sent information bought from Haurus to Pascal Gomez Galeote to four years in prison, two of which were suspended, to three years in prison. For two of them, already convicted after the Nanterre trial in 2021, confusion between the two sentences was also reported. A member of the Marignane group who stored files on an encrypted phone was sentenced to two years in prison.
