On February 21, it will be 26 years since Ibrahim Ali was shot in the back in the Aygalades neighborhood. He was 17 years old and the shooter was a poster collector of the Front National, the latter will be sentenced with three other colleurs to terms ranging from 2 to 15 years imprisonment.
Since the tragedy, relatives and citizens have gathered every year to pay homage to the memory of the teenager. They have been asking for many years that Avenue des Aygalades be renamed “Avenue Ibrahim Ali”. A request that will finally be successful. It was Samia Ghali, 3rd deputy and former mayor of this sector, who announced it on Twitter: “On February 8 during the Council, the memory and history of Ibrahim Ali will finally be recognized by the City (…) We hoped, without ever letting go, I am moved to announce that the avenue of the Aygalades will finally officially bear the name of Ibrahim Ali “.
