Being a mother is strong! A 46-year-old single mother in Hat Samran, Trang Province, Thailand, is known as the “best mother” in Trang Province. She currently has 15 children. The oldest daughter is 29 years old. The youngest child is only 7 years old, but the most admirable thing about this single mother is not the prolificacy, but the ability to raise all the children alone with a daily salary of 500 baht (about NT$440).
According to “sanook” reports, this single mother with 8 boys and 7 girls has had two marriages, and she gave birth to 5 children with her first husband and 10 children with her second husband. After the second husband divorced, he only relied on collecting rubber latex with a daily salary of 500 to 700 baht (approximately NT$440 to 615), or other hard work during the off-season of rubber tapping, to support all the children alone and to support their education.
The single mother emphasized that as long as the children are willing to study, she will not feel hard. She also used her own example to advise the children not to become social burdens, to be kind people, and to be proud of raising 15 children independently without causing trouble to others. Appeal to other single mothers who are also struggling for life and children, “Don’t think that you can’t live without a man, you can still live with hard work.”
Today, although the family still lives in a relative’s one-story bungalow, everyone has to “share 2 rooms”. However, 5 children have graduated to work in other places, and the older children will also help to earn money or take care of younger siblings. The woman also dramatically became the football team manager of her daughter and friends, but regarding the possible next relationship in the future, she emphasized: “I don’t want to have a 16th child.”
