A wife has had multiple affairs. After being discovered by her husband, the couple did not divorce because of it. Instead, they conspired to extort Xiao Wang. The two agreed that his wife would invite Xiao Wang to the hotel to open a room. While she was taking a shower, her husband ran in and dragged her away, they entered her room, beat them, took nude photos and recorded them with cell phones, forcing them to go to court or to agree privately.
The first Xiao Wang who was defrauded chose to swallow his anger and paid RMB 100,000 for reconciliation. The pair followed suit and proceeded to defraud the second Xiao Wang out of RMB 79,950. The conduct amounted to extortion and was taken to court.
The court found that the couple threatened and blackmailed the victim for the purpose of illegal occupation, forcing the two victims to pay a sum of money, totaling 179,950 yuan, which was a huge amount, and their behavior constituted the offense of extortion. After the incident, the two surrendered and returned all the stolen money, obtained the pardon of the victim, pleaded guilty and accepted the sentence and other circumstances of a lighter sentence, were finally sentenced to 1 year and 4 months of imprisonment and a fine of 5,000 yuan.
