Married Couple Arrested for Coldplay Ticket Scam in Jakarta

A married couple with the initials ABF and W were arrested on Coldplay ticket scam. They opened a safekeeping service (jastip) through Twitter account @Fintrove_id.

“As for the chronology, they are the perpetrators of opening website with the name @Fintrove_id, which website this is they bought from Twitter. So they bought from someone website this,” said Dirkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Auliansyah Lubis in a press conference at the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (25/5/2023).

Auliansyah said the two of them bought the account because they had quite a lot followers. That way, the suspect hopes to get as many victims as possible.

“Why did they choose website this is due website this is ok follower-it’s quite a lot follower-his. Then from website here they open or open jastip war tickets for Coldplay ‘Music of the Sphere in Jakarta’,” he said.

Making Fake Testimonials

To convince potential victims, they make comments on their accounts, as if these comments were real testimony from customers who have ‘successfully’ entrusted the purchase of concert tickets to him.

“Which on Twitter they also say that it seems website It has sold tickets to concerts before and has been successful,” he said.

“So the comments than follower this is said to be good, then this is true, this is original, and so on, so that it attracts people who see this on Twitter to buy Coldplay concert tickets,” he added.

Fans who are interested in buying Coldplay tickets will then contact the perpetrators. The perpetrator required the victim to give a certain amount of money as a token booking.

“Then after they open or sell tickets they require the public or the victims to transfer a book slot of IDR 50,000 per ticket. So for example, if I want to buy a ticket so they think I’m not running, I’m obliged to deposit or transfer Rp. 50,000 first,” he explained.

The two suspects also opened a WhatsApp group at number 085219410867. On WhatsApp they conveyed the conditions for booking the slot.

“So then they conveyed through the WhatsApp group that they made, the WhatsApp group admin with number 085219410867, they said that if within one hour, they don’t or these victims don’t deposit money in the amount of the ticket price, then this Rp. 50 thousand will disappear, ” he explained.
