Things start off nicely between Wendy and Jeroen. The two have a good connection, until the first cracks appear. To prevent things from getting completely out of hand, Wendy decides to talk to Marianne. “Something happened between Jeroen and me that means things are not going well now.”
The day before things go wrong, Wendy and Jeroen also have a conversation with behavioral biologist Patrick. “It showed that I need to stand up for myself a little more,” Wendy explains. She immediately puts Patrick’s tips into practice. “That didn’t go well with Jeroen. (…) It escalated last night.”
The problem? Apparently, after the group date, Jeroen asked Wendy twice ‘how she felt about it’. Wendy doesn’t like talking about the same thing over and over again. “That is quite often with Jeroen, that things are discussed several times and I thought: this is a moment to indicate that I do not want that now.”
According to Jeroen, the fork is different. Out of interest, he asked Wendy how she experienced the day, but that turned out wrong. “I have a lot of love in me and I want to get it out. However, that doesn’t make Wendy a beautiful person for me.”
As a result, Wendy loses faith in their marriage. “I just really had a moment of: let me go home.” For Wendy, the way Jeroen reacted is the culprit and Jeroen apologizes for that. “Maybe it was because you were really blunt with me back then.”
Wendy does not accept his apology and that frustrates Jeroen. “I find this reaction very strange, because you are now laughing. (…) I really feel tricked by you.” Wendy tries to explain again. “He just doesn’t understand me and I find that very difficult,” she says emotionally. Jeroen also no longer knows what to do. “To be honest, I’m really done with it now. We’re not going to get any deeper than this. It’s done for both of us.”
