Honda asked to find a replacement Marc Marquez after the Spaniard experienced paralysis of the optic nerve ahead of MotoGP Valencia 2021 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Sunday (14/11).
The Japanese team should be wary of Marquez’s diplopia or paralysis of the optic nerve. This was said by former Honda racer from Italy, Marco Melandri.
Quoted from Motosan, Marquez’s current illness is another problem for Honda. Previously, Marquez had been out for a year due to a broken right arm. Without Marquez, Honda will be weak in MotoGP 2021.
Melandri, who served with Honda in 2005, advised his former team to find a replacement for Marquez.
“If Marquez doesn’t recover, of course Honda will have to think about the market [mencari pengganti], said Melandri.
“[Usia] Marc is close to 30, and such an important team must have strong riders,” Melandri added.

Since 2013 Marquez has been Honda’s mainstay. The Japanese team also developed a motorcycle that suits the needs of the Cervera-born racer.
However, since last season Marquez’s injury has become a problem for Honda. Without Marquez, Honda lost its spurs and lost the title.
Because of that Melandri assessed that Honda needed to find a solution so that their motorbikes could be more easily controlled by other racers.
“Sincerely I hope to see him back on track. How he races, is on the bike and attacks precisely when he has problems, there is no one like him,” Melandri said.
