Marc Marquez fall back in the series MotoGP Catalunya 2021. However, the 8-time world champion feels there is progress in his performance.
Starting from 13th at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Sunday (6/6/2021), Marquez managed to sprint to sixth place. He had participated in the fight for the podium position before crashing at Turn 10 on the eighth lap.
This result made it 3 times failed to finish in a row. As a result, the points score is far behind from Fabio Quartararo who topped the standings. The French rider has collected 115 points, while Marquez has only 16 points.
However Marquez continue to evaluate the results obtained. Because, the Repsol Honda rider was able to perform according to his own expectations.
“Yes, today I enjoyed the race, I was pressing. I’m like the old Marc again. For me, it was the best seven laps of the year,” Marquez told Autosport.
“I race the way I want to, and when I’m on the grid I say, ‘it’s time to take the risk’. No matter where we are, no matter where I come from, I don’t care what people say.”
“I believe it’s time to take risks, because just racing to finish 12th or 14th is meaningless.”
“So I did what I did earlier. Pressed from the start, as you can see. I managed to overtake. I enjoyed it, but when everyone was at their own pace, I wasn’t in the right place.”
“But I’d rather do well in seven laps (despite the crash) than just finish and stay on the bike.” Marquez.
