Maronite Patriarch: We ask God to bless the good efforts for his glory and the good of Lebanon and the Lebanese

The Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi, presided over Sunday Mass in the Bkerke Patriarchal Church on one of Joseph’s statements and delivered a sermon entitled “O Joseph, do not be afraid to take Mary as your bride.” (Matthew 1:20), and His Eminence said: “No man, and especially any official, can live an upright life and exercise the duties of his responsibility, unless he is in a state of hearing the voice of God in his words, his inspirations and his calls to conscience, and we say this especially to our officials and politicians: if they do, they will save the country and its citizens from their tragedies.

In his homily, presiding over the Divine Liturgy on Sunday 11 December, Patriarch Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi said: “Last week, at the kind invitation of His Majesty King Abdullah, we made an official and pastoral visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan II Bin Al-Hussein, and we appreciated how much the existence of an authority that decides is a source of stability and growth.” But this authority does not exist in Lebanon due to the lack of implementation of the Taef Agreement in letter and spirit, and due to the incorrect application of what has been implemented. So let us salute His Majesty the King and appreciate how he uplifts the Kingdom and its people in progress and progress. We thank him for the efforts he made to help Lebanon and for the various aids he sent to the Lebanese people after the bombing of the port of Beirut, which strengthens the historic relationship between the Kingdom and Lebanon, and between it and the Maronite Patriarchate , we have been pleased to see our Maronite parish in Amman grow and progress thanks to its Reverend Joseph Sweid , the Waqf Management Committee and the Pastoral Council, both on a spiritual, evolutionary and evolutionary level.

“We remind our nation’s deputies and those involved in political affairs – Patriarch Al-Rahi said in his homily – that the basis for the establishment of Lebanon in 1920 is cultural and religious pluralism in unity; its basis after independence is the National Pact to live together in equality; and its basis after the Taif Agreement is the redistribution of the roles of the sects, so much so that the preamble of the constitution says: “There is no legitimacy for any authority that contradicts the pact of coexistence. The group applies in contrast to these foundations. It does not respect the idea of constitution of Lebanon, nor partnership, nor pluralism, nor independence, nor national pact nor Taef and its constitution. The purpose of this shameful behavior is to eliminate The privacy, values and the system of Lebanon? Is there a decision made by a foresight and a plan to demolish the existing Lebanon and build on its ruins a project of state that does not belong to its people, its history or its surroundings? How do the deputies govern? They meet nine times and don’t elect a president? This means they don’t want to elect a president, or are not qualified to elect a president, and therefore contest the existence of the Lebanese Republic, and lose the trust of the people and respect for fraternal countries and friends who are working to save Lebanon. Parliamentary sittings, how are they, to deceive the people and the world who meet to elect the president, while deceiving and disguising?

His Beatitude added, “Hence the need to turn to the United Nations and the decision-making countries to save Lebanon before it is too late. There is no escape from internationalizing the Lebanese question after all domestic solutions have failed. It is remarkable that those who fail internal solutions are those who reject internationalization. When the internal solution is broken and internationalization is rejected, it means that these parties do not want any solution to the Lebanese situation. Either Lebanon will be as they want it or not but everyone must know that Lebanon will be the way all its faithful children want it. There was strong opposition to last Monday’s cabinet meeting with the minimum number of ministers and the maximum business timetable, and without representation agreed in session. the opposition has taken on a constitutional, political and sectarian dimension that we feared would occur sooner that happened and we warned her. We have urged the Prime Minister’s State to reconsider convening the session and postpone it for the sake of further consultation and to define the powers of a Government have resigned and conducted business in the absence of a President of the Republic, but the Government, unfortunately, he held his sitting with those who attended, and there was no opposition.

Therefore, Patriarch Al-Rahi said: “We appeal to the government to be careful in using its powers to ensure national unity and to prevent some from exploiting such meetings for political and sectarian purposes. The best the government, especially its president, “can do is work at the Arab and international levels to speed up the election of a president for the republic. That is.” His positions remain above conflict and political competition, and he sides only with the national right. He adheres to inclusive national principles, historical constants and the constitution with its covenant dimension. By the way, we invite the parties to transcend their struggles in order to create the situation It is appropriate for successful meetings, otherwise there is no point in repeating meetings that go to waste, as happened three months ago.

We ask God to bless the good efforts for His glory and the good of Lebanon and Lebanon, and to Him we raise praise and thanksgiving, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, Amen.
