MARN predicts winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour – Diario La Página – 2024-03-12 09:38:41

According to technicians from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN), for this Sunday, March 10, El Salvador is expected to be influenced by the entry of Note Winds with gusts of up to 40 kilometers per hour.

It is explained that the North Winds will continue until this Monday, being weak and moderate in the valleys, but that they will be felt more strongly in high areas and especially in the mountainous strip of the western and central area.

The expected values will range between 10 and 25 kilometers per hour, with gusts that will reach up to 40 kilometers per hour. Specifically, these could be higher in sectors whose terrain is favorable for additional wind acceleration.

However, a decrease in minimum and maximum temperatures is not expected, but we will be able to feel a pleasant atmosphere due to the action of the wind in high areas and interior valleys. The range of minimum temperatures expected in the mornings, in high areas will be between 8 and 14 degrees Celsius, in interior valleys between 15 and 21 degrees Celsius, and in coastal areas between 22 and 26 degrees.

All these conditions are associated with high pressure that generates North Winds in the country. Additionally, a cold front will push to the north and northeast of Yucatán, which today will cause a prefrontal trough towards the north of Central America, favoring an increase in cloud cover over mountainous areas in the northern and western areas.
