The legendary Hollywood actor, Marlon Brando, winner of two Oscars, will have his first biographical film, which, after releasing its first images, has given rise to talk for “reviving” the interpreter of Vito Corleone in The Godfather.
The film, titled “Waltzing with Brando”, will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, coinciding in its 42nd edition with the centenary of the birth of Marlon Brando.
According to the page IMDbdedicated to housing cinematographic data, the film stars Billy Zane, who has given something to talk about thanks to his characterization of Marlon Brando during the time when “The Godfather” was a success for the actor.
The synopsis describes the film as the work of Marlon Brando, together with a Los Angeles architect, to build “the world’s first ecologically perfect retreat on a small uninhabitable island in Tahiti.”
The film is written and directed by Bill Fishman, and according to Zane, the film “honors a man’s passion for the defense of civil and indigenous rights and his little-known commitment to the environment and sustainable design.”
In that sense, it is worth mentioning that Brando rejected the Oscar for Best Actor in 1973 for his work in The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola, pointing out mistreatment of indigenous communities, in addition to accusing Hollywood of “stereotyping” this minority.
Sacheen Littlefeather, a Native American, took the stage at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles on behalf of Marlon Brando to make the actor’s position known and reject the award.
“I am Apache and chair of the National Native American Affirmative Image Committee. “Tonight I come representing Marlon Brando. “He has asked me to tell you, in a very long speech, that unfortunately he rejects this generous award,” the woman said.
