A great lead, great man and cute child; everything seems to be going well in Marlin’s life. Until last April, when her mother suddenly died just two weeks before the birth of her second son. “Being a grandmother was a really big part of her life, something that gave her a lot of pleasure,” the musical star candidly tells her story.
Marlijn says that she slept with her mother that day, because their own house is being renovated at that time. “I heard a little rumbling downstairs, but I was actually already in bed,” she remembers. Yet Marlin decides to get out of bed and take a look downstairs. “Then she lay on the ground.”

“I immediately thought: this is wrong. So we immediately called 112 and I held her for another ten minutes, but I immediately thought: this is very wrong,” Marlijn continues to Art. “She had some sort of seizure and a brain haemorrhage.” Her mother is kept in a coma in the hospital for another week, but in vain.

Because of corona, only one person is allowed to visit her per day, which means that the Danni Lowinskicstar can really only visit her via FaceTime. She doesn’t really feel like she’s really been able to say goodbye to her mother. “If someone suddenly falls over, you no longer have those conversations that you might normally have or things that you can still say or do… I’m glad she knew he would be called Sammie, but of course it’s terrible that she couldn’t see him.”
Rooijakkers Over The Floor can be seen every Thursday at 9.30 pm on RTL 4 or look ahead at Videoland.
