Tony Gatlif’s films carry in them a formidable energy: that of their heroes. His last feature film is no exception to the rule with a standard name for title.
The film released on August 4, 2021, the director of Gadjo Dilo offers its share of powerful images with always important music. He follows a young delinquent in rehabilitation taken in charge by a Camargue guardian.
At barely 18 years old, Tom Medina, a recidivist petty thief, was placed with Ulysses, a man with a big heart, to learn the profession of gardian in the Camargue. He no longer steals, thirsts for knowledge and aspires to be someone else. Revolted by the hostility that does not change towards him, he fights against his destiny. He recognizes himself in this culture of the bull, and invests in his learning. He feels the soul of the country so much that he is inhabited by visions. Between his devoted mentor, his seasoned daughter and rock singer, then his meeting with a young woman in search of his daughter, Tom is looking for himself. A story full of strength and hope inspired by the youth of its author.

Karoline-Rose Sun, also known as SUN, is a Franco-German singer, songwriter, guitarist and actress born in Karlsruhe, Germany. She created her own style, Brutal Pop, which mixes pop songs and metal inspirations, which she plays under the name SUN.
Karoline-Rose Sun, the pioneer of “brutal pop”, makes a sensational debut here in front of the camera. The Rocker and now actress carries the filmmaker’s rage against the ravages of the present: “What joy to have been able to embody this rock n roll and badass character that is Stella!” Thank you Tony Gatlif for having trusted me and for having patiently guided me in my first steps as an actress in the cinema! Nevertheless, the actress was also very happy to find the family home in Fontaine-Denis-Nuisy, a town in which she had sung with her mother Françoise Colson in October 2016 during a tribute to her grandfather André Colson, the ‘teacher.
As a singer, has created a style that she calls “Brutal Pop”. She shouted in Brutal Death Metal bands, sang in musicals like 1789, Les Amants de la Bastille at the Palais des sports. She played Édith Piaf, in Piaf, une vie en rose et noir as far as Japan and Korea. She also made a very noticed passage in The Voice season 2. She is quickly spotted in the world of contemporary theater: she plays and sings in the pieces of Roland Auzet, Laurent Gaudé, Guillaume Vincent, composes for the choreographer Daniel Larrieu. She also signs five songs on the film’s soundtrack, combining her usual style with gypsy and flamenco inspirations!
