Marktheidenfeld: First people from Ukraine…

The first people who fled Ukraine have arrived in Marktheidenfeld. Around 50 people found shelter in the Main-Spessarthalle. Another 100 Ukrainians are to be admitted on Friday.

The hall is intended as the first port of call for people from Ukraine. From here they should be distributed to other accommodations in the district as quickly as possible.

The former hospital in Marktheidenfeld should also be ready for occupancy in the coming week. Here are the last preparations. Up to 300 people can be accommodated in the accommodation.

Coordinated help important

The willingness to help of the district residents is enormous, according to District Administrator Sabine Sitter. However, citizens are asked not to come to the hall or other accommodation so that people can rest for a while.

Donations in kind are also not accepted at the accommodation – the citizens should wait until a specific call is made to determine which things are needed and where.

The district also wants to set up an official donation account.
