L’Inter finally embraces, or rather embraces again, his new striker, Marko Arnautovic. The Austrian, who arrived in Milan on Tuesday evening where he dined with his entourage with DS Ausilio, also promising a fan at the hotel entrance to score at least ten goals, is in fact officially a Nerazzurri player 13 years after his first back to Milan. This was announced by Inter, who picked up the striker from Bologna on loan with the right and obligation to redeem upon the occurrence of certain conditions. “I’m here to win and score goals. I’m a different Marko than 13 years ago, here to bring trophies” were Arnautovic’s first words on his return to the Nerazzurri.

ARNAUTOVIC: “HERE TO WIN”
It’s at Inter TV his first words also arrived: “I’m delighted and delighted, for me it’s a great honor to play for Inter again. Thirteen years ago I was more a fan than a player, today I’m here to help the team and win. I’ve grown up, that Marko he was hotheaded and didn’t think so much about football. Now it’s different, I’m calm and grown in age and character.”
“I’m physically strong, I came here to score goals and I know how to do it. Expectations? I came here to win something because you have to win here. I’m here to bring a trophy,” he continued. the championship begins”.
THE PRESS RELEASE FROM INTER
And on their website, Inter welcomes back Arnautovic: “How many adventures can you have in the space of thirteen years? How many places and how many faces can you cross? The answer is difficult to discover, but each of them has contributed to the growth by Marko Arnautović, who returned to Inter after a long tour of the world”.
Born on April 19, 1989 in Vienna, son of a Serbian father and an Austrian mother, Marko took his first steps in the suburban district of Floridsdorf. Dad Tomislav, a former striker in a town near Belgrade, helped in the restaurant of the Floridsdorfer, a small local club where he played in his spare time. Here, in a landscape dotted with chimneys and factories, Marko is taken by his dad to the training ground, where he plays as long as the light permits. Thus begins the adventure with Arnautović’s ball.
Marko amazes and immediately shows off in the Floridsdorfer: he plays with the youth academies of Austria Vienna, First Vienna and Rapid Vienna, but always returns to his first training ground. Until in 2006, at the age of 17, he flew to Holland for Twente: in Enschede he tasted professional football for the first time, he made his debut in the First Team in 2007 and in October he made his debut in Europe against Getafe.
The 2008/09 season is that of the explosion: he scores 12 goals and attracts the interest of big teams, but Marko chooses Inter. In Milan, the Austrian spent a triumphant year in Nerazzurri history, however taking the field in just three games.
Moving to Werder Bremen the following year, Arnautović began his world tour, which then took him to England, destination Stoke City, in 2013. Four seasons, four salvations and the unconditional love of the Potters fans: Marko then moved at West Ham, where he stayed for two years scoring 21 goals in total.
In 2019 the time has come for a new adventure: the Austrian flies to China, at the Shanghai SIPG. A new world, a different football: an experience complicated by the outbreak of the pandemic, which leads Marko to the decision to return to Europe, to Italy, to Bologna. In rossoblu Arnautović becomes a symbol, and in 2021/22 he also experiences his best season in terms of goals in his entire career.
Physically strong, gifted with great technique and practically ambidextrous, Marko is a complete striker, who has become an icon of the Austrian national team, for which he holds the record for appearances at 108. Now he returns to the Nerazzurri with the same desire to amaze that had led him to Milan in 2009.
THE MESSAGE OF THE CURVE
“Welcome back to the Marko family, Nord is with you”, the banner with which the North Curve he greeted Arnautovic at Coni. For the Austrian, a second life at Inter: the forward already wore this shirt thirteen years ago, in the year of the Treble, when he collected three appearances and zero goals.
