Over the past week, the crowds in Tampa Bay have caused quite a stir. Against Baltimore, a crowd of less than 5000 people was recorded, which is very little. And as the numbers are boosted, one can think that they were not able to make believe with a crowd of 5000 people… ouch.
Obviously, no need to tell you that the players are aware of this problem. The stadium is inaccessible and the effects are visible by reganding the crowds.
Guys like Tyler Glasnow know about it. The latter, while questioned about the problem of crowds in Tampa, notably raised the location of the stadium to explain the poor results at the wickets – as we suspected. He also mentioned the number of one-way traffic on the road to explain the difficulties in getting to Tropicana Field.
Having said that, as reported by the Tampa Bay Times, this is not the only factor in his eyes. Why? Because he thinks the club is not doing a good job at the marketing level.
Obviously, to attract a young clientele, you have to create an interesting customer experience. You don’t have to do it perfectly in big markets, but you have to do it in Tampa, say.
Even if he says he is convinced that the club has already tried many tricks to achieve its goals, he sees the difference in having played abroad. According to him, there is not enough spectacle during the defensive changes, that is to say the half-innings.
Obviously, not wanting to show up for the match, it is more law than the club on the field. Everyone has to get their hands dirty to get there.
And let’s say in Tampa, it’s one minute to midnight. All details are important, especially those that are easily achievable.
