I’m glad that I’m over it,” assessed Davidová at the finish line, who lost a minute and twenty-four seconds to the winner Justine Braisazová-Bouchetová. Ingrid Tandrevold finished second, ahead of third Lou Jeanmonnot.
Tereza Voborníková finished sixteenth. “I like this snow, but it was incredibly difficult. In addition, I feel really terrible because of the time difference,” she said. From the Czech point of view, Voborníková (+1:42), twenty-fourth Jessica Jislová (+2:03), twenty-sixth Lucie Charvátová (+2:04) lined up behind each other. How was the race?
Markéta Davidová ran the opening sprint quickly, but after one mistake lying down she knew she had to put in a special performance in order to think about the front ranks. In Soldier Hollow, for example, the Italian Vittozzi and the French Jeanmonnot shot cleanly and set the bar really high for the other competitors.
But not one of them was enough for Justine Braisazová-Bouchetová from France, who even with one mistake was leading the ranking after a very fast run. And when even the clean-shooting Norka Trandrevoldová in the yellow jersey of the World Ranking leader couldn’t overtake her, it was becoming clear that this would be the winning time. This was finally confirmed and the Frenchwoman celebrates the American victory.
After another mistake, even Davidová was unable to compete with the French star, who eventually fell to eleventh position with a minimal distance behind the top 10. Tereza Voborníková did better in shooting, but was held back by a slower run. She finished sixteenth.
Traditionally, Jessica Jislová also showed reliable shooting, who did not miss even once, but lost to Voborníková after suffering on the track. The twenty-fourth place belonged to her. Lucie Charvátová spent a second longer in the race, taking twenty-sixth place in a very difficult race.
