The AEX indication is +0.2% and no time to lose, there is a lot (exciting news).
European futures open between +0.2% and +0.4% The US are at comparable scores In Asia, China and South Korea are (considerably) lower, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan are (considerably) higher Alibaba +0, 4% Tencent +0.2% TSMC +2.0% (not sure why, no news today) Samsung +0.4% Volatility (CBOE VIX Index) is -0.9% at 17.0 and the BofA MOVE Index (bonds) is -3.1% at 126.7 The currently quite volatile and, on balance, improving dollar is now falling again by 0.2% to 1.0863 Gold is up +0.3%, oil is up 0.2% and crypto is now up about 2%. Bitcoin is now at $26,020.18 and look at the picture. Something with Binance’s BNB sometimes?
One or two basis points means absolutely nothing in the fixed income market right now. Things will probably continue until – again – Fed’s Jerome Powell and ECB’s Christine Lagarde speak in Jackson Hole on Friday.
Last week there was a turnover warning and today is the word challenging in the headline of the H1’s press release: Alfen does not have good numbers, but has it been priced in? Quote from our analyst Niels Koerts:
If we look at Alfen’s figures, we understand why the company issued a turnover warning last week. Partly due to the sharp drop in sales at the charging station division, revenues and margins were considerably lower than expected.
Kendrion even moves deteriorating in the headline of her H1 press release and then you know it with this cyclical. Not good numbers – is it a warning or not? – and the company is going to restructure.
A bit clumsy screen dump, but according to DNB these were in June the most popular stocks among Dutch private investors. Immediately out of two you will see a hybrid product, but nevermind.
All of Big Tech is also included, but not… Nvidia! Just let that come with Q2 figures at 10:00 PM. Yesterday the fund put on opening another one all-time high down, but see the lock. That’s how volatile the fund is.
The market expects $2.09 earnings per share and $11.22 billion in revenue and… the last few days have seen some upward revisions from the analysts. Did the company send them a bit? We’ll never find out. The story is clear. Very briefly: AI costs companies (Big Tech) = turnover Nvidia.
You can see how this year and price and turnover and profit expectations and valuation have exploded. How many upside is there still in the price (and valuation) with (a) windfall(s) and how much downside is there if anything is disappointing? Because Nvidia is priced for perfecton – on steroids.
Psst, a (surprisingly?) share that is in the DNB list and now shows an exciting picture, is Pharming. See the volume also yesterday. If the course goes through this time and then you will understand.
We’re not there yet. Something with Randstad:

Finally, there is another exciting item today, the first estimates of the purchasing managers’ indices (PMIs) for August. They are the best, but as always in the stock market and the economy, they are not perfect forecasters.
