Big blow from RB Leipzig, which offers itself the second highest scorer in the Bundesliga last season: Andre Silva.
Center forward Andre Silva is leaving Eintracht Frankfurt to join Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig with immediate effect. The Saxons made the official announcement on Friday night.
The transfer fee for Silva, who was under contract on the Frankfurt side until 2023, would be 23 million euros (plus 12 million possible bonuses). In Leipzig, the 25-year-old signed for five years, until 2026.

Silva, who was part of Portugal’s squad for the European Championship and failed with Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates in the round of 16 against Belgium, had scored 28 Bundesliga goals for Frankfurt last season. Only Bayern star Robert Lewandowski (41 goals) has scored more often, with Erling Haaland rounding out the line with one unit less than his 27 goals.
Silva wore the Eintracht Frankfurt jersey since 2019, after having been to AC Milan, but also Porto and Sevilla. In Leipzig, he is expected to make up for Timo Werner’s departure from Chelsea FC a year late.
This season, the Dane Yussuf Poulsen, the Norwegian Alexander Sörloth or the Swede Emil Forsberg attacked the vice-champions of Germany, who also made their way to the knockout stages of the Champions League at the expense from Manchester United.
But the young German club, who landed in the Bundesliga in 2016, wants to be ambitious after having finished for the fourth time on the podium of the German championship in five seasons. Still ahead of Bayern Munich, they will once again want to compete with the Rekordmeister in the title race next season. A mission for which the effectiveness of the Portuguese striker will not be too much.
