The new Director General of Public Security, Brigadier General Elias Al-Bisari, begins his political meetings today, after officially assuming his new position.
Al-Bisari was keen that the first meeting he held outside the directorate be with the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, who had signed his appointment decision on Friday. Today, he will meet Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in the presence of Mawlawi as well.
MTV learned that Al-Baisari, immediately after the decision to delay his dismissal and assuming the position of Acting Director General of Public Security, visited his mother’s grave to pray for her soul, which he had lost in the last week of last year.
