Mark Zuckerberg climbs the list of billionaires. How lucky is the tech mogul who owns Meta

Mark Zuckerberg climbs the list of billionaires and joins the exclusive club of rich people with a fortune of more than 200 billion dollars. The CEO of Meta has increased his personal wealth by $73.4 billion in 2024.

Recent figures from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index show that Mark Zuckerberg will increase his personal wealth by $73.4 billion in 2024 to $201 billion. The CEO of Meta is the fourth richest person in the world, joining an elusive $200 billion club with only three other members, according to CNN.

Tesla and X CEO Elon Musk ($272 billion); Bezos ($211 billion), founder of Amazon; and Arnault ($207 billion), CEO of luxury brand LVMH, are the only people ahead of Zuckerberg on this list.

Much of his fortune is tied to Zuckerberg’s, 40, Meta Platforms stock, which Facebook launched in 2004. Meta (META) shares are up nearly 64% in 2024.

On Wednesday, Meta shares gained 0.9% to close at a record high of $568.31, but fell to $567.36 on Friday.

Meta operates the popular social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and Threads, as well as the instant messaging app WhatsApp.

Speaking at the Meta Connect 2024 event on Wednesday, Zuckerberg said that Meta AI is on track to become the most used assistant in the world.

We are close to 500 million monthly (active users) and we haven’t even launched in some of the biggest countries yetZuckerberg said, referring to the countries of the European Union.

Zuckerberg isn’t the only tech mogul to make a big jump in revenue this year. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, and Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle, have increased their net worth in 2024 by $62.2 billion and $58.6 billion, respectively.
