Mark’s post presents a video tutorial, how two cellphones transfer data so easily. The cellphone in question only scans the QR code from the other device that has an account WhatsApp.
It doesn’t take long, because it only takes 15 seconds to transfer chat history to a new device. So users don’t need to restore via Gmail, which takes quite a long time.
The post has been shared by more than 1.8 thousand people, and liked by 22 thousand users Facebook. Many people have commented on how the information about the new feature is very useful.
The sophistication offered WhatsApp, allows its users to stay in the app without leaving the phone. So, the data stays on the two devices, without using third-party apps or other cloud services.
As detikINET observed, to transfer chat history with a QR code, both devices must be connected to Wi-Fi and location enabled. Then the user can open the Settings menu > Chat > Chat Transfer > Start > Scan QR code.
So before that, make sure you have downloaded it WhatsApp on a new phone. Then register with the same phone number as the old device.
The last step, just use the old phone to scan the QR code displayed on the new device. That way, the chat history data will also be on the new cellphone.
