Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk Duel at Roman Colosseum: Historic Showdown between Tech Titans

Jakarta

Two of the most famous technology innovators in the world today, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, are rumored to be dueling at the Roman Colosseum.

An official from the Italian Ministry of Culture has reportedly contacted the head of Twitter and Tesla, Elon Musk, as well as the boss of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, about the agenda for their fight in the most iconic and historic place in Italy, namely the Roman Colosseum.

Reporting from the New York Post, Sunday (2/7/2023), The Post has asked for confirmation from the Italian ministry of culture regarding this plan.

In response, this originally started with Elon Musk’s idea, “Once upon a time there was a fight in the Colosseum,” Elon tweeted some time ago.

No kidding, the two tech moguls have trained with Lex Fridman, an artificial intelligence researcher at MIT who hosts the Lex Fridman Podcast. He also practices Brazilian jujitsu and holds a first degree black belt in this sport.

After Musk tweeted earlier this month that he would be fighting in the arena with Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder fired back by posting a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the caption ‘send location’.

Zuckerberg’s team reportedly passed the message to Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White, who then contacted Italian officials, according to TMZ Sports.

“If Zuckerberg and Musk want to appear at the Colosseum, they must make a non-violent challenge,” the Italian Ministry of Culture said in a public statement.

According to the media, the Ministry first contacted Mark Zuckerberg personally, then the request was forwarded to Dana White, President of UFC. After that there are follow ups and calls have been set for next week. Musk’s Colosseum Tweet, for example, is a response to this plan.

Italy’s Ministry of Culture is reportedly offering the 2,000-year-old venue as a fighting arena for the ‘fight in the cage’ for the two innovators.

This moment is considered a wonder of the world because it is so rare. Therefore, Elon Musk continues to increase the hype of his battle with Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg, meanwhile, has been training at an MMA gym since September in hopes of competing, he revealed on June 17. Even cooler, in an Instagram post back in May, Zuckerberg posted his first win in an amateur Brazilian jujitsu tournament.

If the historic amphitheater turns out to be the location, it will be the first time in hundreds of years that a bout will be staged again in the arena.

The Roman Colosseum alone had a capacity of 50,000 people, was the largest ancient amphitheater ever built, and is still the largest standing amphitheater in the world, despite its age. This place used to witness life and death fights between gladiators since nearly 2,000 years ago. Today, the ruins can accommodate only a few hundred people, and are used more for concerts than fighting.

In 2003, Sir Paul McCartney held an exclusive benefit show inside the Colosseum for an audience of 400 people at a cost of $1,500 each. Other than that, all other concerts are held outside the building.
