Mark Ruffalo to Star in a New Crime Drama Series Commissioned by HBO

HBO has commissioned Brad Ingelsby, the creator of “Mare of Easttown,” a new crime drama starring Mark Ruffalo. Although the title of the series has not yet been announced, it is known that it will follow a special team of law enforcement officers and the criminals they try to capture. In addition to starring, Ruffalo will also executive produce alongside Ingelsby and Jeremiah Zagar, who will direct the series.

The script is already finished and the actor’s deal was finalized before the start of the writers’ strike, although there has been no progress since then. The series will be produced in association with wiip, with Paul Lee and Mark Roybal serving as wiip’s executive producers. Nicole Jordan-Webber and Jeremy Yaches of Public Record will serve as co-executive producers.

After the success and praise received by “Mare of Easttown”, HBO was excited for this new project from Ingelsby and had high expectations for who would lead the series, just as Kate Winslet was in the spotlight in Easttown. Ruffalo seemed like the obvious choice, especially after winning an Emmy for her performance in the HBO limited miniseries “The Undeniable Truth.” Therefore, an agreement was reached last month.

Ruffalo, who recently reprized his role as Bruce Banner in the Disney+ series, “She-Hulk: Lawyer She-Hulk,” starred opposite Ryan Reynolds in “The Adam Project” and will next be seen in Warner Bros.’ “Mickey 17.” and “Plan B”, along with Robert Pattinson.

Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Drama Series and Movies at HBO, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to once again join forces with Brad Ingelsby, the brilliant auteur behind Mare of Easttown.”

While the series premiere date has yet to be announced, fans are excited to see Ruffalo return to the small screen in another HBO project.
