Mark-Jan Fledderus Steps Down as Technical Manager of Eredivisie CV

Mark-Jan Fledderus (41) will immediately stop as technical manager of the Eredivisie CV. The former footballer was only employed by the umbrella organization from July.

“There was a recent evaluation moment. We had also agreed on this with each other. We determined that, despite the pleasant cooperation, we will not continue with each other,” said director Jan de Jong in a statement. “That can of course always happen and that is why you have such conversations. We thank Mark-Jan for his efforts and input. He is a nice guy who fitted in well with the team, but is now going to try his luck elsewhere.”

According to the Eredivisie CV, Fledderus was “responsible for the sporting technical development of the Eredivisie and its eighteen clubs, with the ambition to improve the overall quality of the competition and maintain the top 6 position in Europe”.

Fledderus was already controversial at the end of January after hitting an opponent during an amateur football match. After the moment in the fourth division on Saturday, the former footballer of FC Groningen and Heracles Almelo, among others, stopped playing amateur football.
