One of the last times we saw Mark Hamill on the screen was precisely in The Mandalorian and in Boba Fett’s bookwhere they brought back his character as Luke Skywalker but with a small drawback: he had to be several decades younger, since The Mandalorian takes place a few years after return of the jedi.

Mark Hamill is against artificial intelligence and deepfake

to have Mark Hamill interpreting the a rejuvenated version of himselfhe used a younger actor and artificial intelligence through deepfake -as had happened some time before with Carrie Fisher and his princess Leia Organa-, to replace his face with that of “authenticLuke Skywalker.

People say, “Oh, now You’re going to be able to do a whole series of Luke after return of the jedi”. I say, “I don’t think so.” Mark Hamill explained that there is no need to “tell those stories”, although we have already verified that this does not imply any impediment to Disney in series like Obi-Wan Kenobi.

On the other hand, Mark Hamill also added that, “if they do it, they could get an actor appropriate for his age“, instead of continuing to use the artificial intelligence and the deepfake for himself to play a young Luke Skywalker in future productions of Star Wars.
