One image shows the scene where Darth Vader lies defeated on the ground and asks his son Luke Skywalker, played by Hamill, to help remove his mask. However, if Darth Vader were to take off his helmet, he would die, as Luke points out. “Nothing can stop that now,” his father replies in the 1983 film.

For his Twitter joke, Hamill has changed the last sentence to ‘I have rights’. With this he refers to the statement of opponents of mouth masks when they do not want to wear them. In the caption, the actor gives his message some extra weight. “We have to get through this together. Don’t be a #maskhole”, a corruption of the words ‘mask’ and ‘asshole’ (bastard).
