Mark Hamill is Happy Not to Appear in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer’

To the disappointment of many fans, veteran Star Wars heroes Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) didn’t make it into the first trailer for The Force Awakens. Instead, the clip focuses on introducing the new cast of John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac.

The producers made exactly the right decision, said Skywalker actor Hamill in an interview with “yahoo.com”. “It’s about the new generation. That’s the most important. It’s the opening of a whole new approach to the story.” In general, the 63-year-old jokes that he’s actually very happy not to appear in the trailer. “I always ruin something like this.”

After the first three films, he never expected to set foot on a Star Wars set again.
