ASTEN – Mark Gillis is still suffering from the robbery, but is now back at work. His father Peter Gillis announced this on Wednesday evening in RTL Boulevard. His son was badly beaten last Saturday in a robbery at Prinsenmeer park.

Mark Gillis was overpowered by three men on the night from Saturday to Sunday just after three o’clock when he arrived at his chalet. The men mistreated him, in which he also some punches and kicks had to collect. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

According to his father, Mark suffered a lot from the event in the days after the robbery, he says in the RTL program. He is now trying to resume his daily life. But he will always remember this.”

The 25-year-old Mark Gillis has been known since he played a prominent role in the real life series on SBS6 about the life of the Gillis family. He has been living at Prinsenmeer park for several years and is an operational manager at his father’s company.

‘I’d rather they catch me’
The event has also hit the holiday park tycoon. ,,I felt like shit after the weekend,’ says Peter Gillis. “It’s about my child. Then I’d rather they catch me.” His security has been tightened again after the robbery. “We already had personal security, but then you will see, not at that time.”

Police are still investigating the robbery. It was not disclosed what the men took from the home. The net worth of Gillis is estimated at around eighty million euros, but that is not just up for grabs. “We have all our money in the parks. It’s not just at my house. Neither does my son.”
The family has already received thousands of messages of support. Dozens of flower arrangements have also been delivered to them.

Photo injured son leaked
A photo is circulating on social media in which the young Astenaar looks badly damaged. Father Peter is not happy about the leaking of the photo of his injured son. He sent the photo to some people he trusts. The fact that it did appear on the internet would mean that someone in his ‘inner circle’ has distributed it. “I have learned from that now. I don’t just send anything around anymore.”
