Businessman and billionaire Mark Cuban revealed “a secret that all successful people know,” stressing that it is necessary to be wary of anyone who claims that he “will sell you a guaranteed strategy to make money easily.”

He told his more than 940,000 followers on the TikTok platform: “When you see someone on social media telling you how he will make you money, he is lying.”

The reason is simple, Cuban says, according to a report published by the American network CNBC, and reviewed by Al Arabiya.net: “If they are really good, they will make themselves rich and will not share their strategy.”

“When you have a great idea, when you have a way to make a lot of money, the first thing you won’t do is sell it to anyone else. You will keep it for yourself.”

“You don’t have to surf the Internet for a long time to find so-called ‘business gurus’, who present themselves as advisors to aspiring entrepreneurs.”

“Be especially wary of people who specialize in certain industries, or tell you they will help you create a certain type of business,” Cuban added.

“When someone sells their idea to you, whatever it is, and then sells it to other people, do you know what they’re doing besides lining their own pockets? They’re creating competition for you.”

He added: “Do you know what they call a person who gets into a business where there are an unlimited number of people doing exactly the same thing as you? They call them stupid. Don’t do it.”

According to the report, you should consult someone you trust, and research the advisor before sending any money to him, according to the recommendations of the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau. The report added, you can start by checking their credentials, searching for their names using terms like “reviews” and “scam,” and checking with your state’s attorney general to see if any complaints have been filed in the past.

If someone tries to rush you into making a decision, that’s a sign to watch out for, the Federal Trade Commission’s website notes.
