Marjorie Taylor Greene: – Comparing face masks to the Holocaust:

NEW YORK (Dagbladet): Greene is very controversial both for his ties to right-wing extremists and for support for the QAnon conspiracy theory. As recently as last week, Greene was massively criticized for attacking his colleague, Democrat Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) outside the congress hall.

Now she is in bad weather again. Green compared the order to wear a face mask inside Congress with what Jews were subjected to during the Holocaust.

– Mishandling

The House Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has decided that members of Congress will still have to wear face masks inside the hall because very many of the Republican elected representatives refuse to say whether they have been vaccinated.

– You know, we can look back at history where people were required to wear a yellow “Jewish star”, and they were definitely treated as second-class citizens to such an extent that they were placed on trains and taken to the gas chambers in Nazi Germany. And that’s exactly the kind of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about, says Greene in an interview with the podcast “The Water Cooler”, where she talks to the conservative commentator David Brody on the Christian Broadcasting Network.

Will not answer

All the elected representatives in both the Senate and the House of Representatives were among the very first in the United States to be offered the vaccine in December last year. A walkthrough CNN has done, shows that 100 percent of Democrats have been vaccinated. 92 percent of Republicans in the Senate say they have been vaccinated, but only 44.8 percent of Republicans in the House of Representatives say they have been vaccinated. More than 100 Republicans in the House of Representatives will not say whether they have been vaccinated, although US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) health officials have said that people who are fully vaccinated can stay indoors safely without wearing a face mask.

– We have a responsibility to make sure that the House of Representatives is not a petri dish of infection due to the selfishness of someone who has not been vaccinated, Pelosi said.

Greene is among those who have refused to say whether she has taken the vaccine.

– This is a woman who does not care about people’s safety. This is a woman who is hyper-focused on her own power and control, says Greene about Pelosi in the podcast.

– Evil madness

Unexpectedly, Greene’s statements provoke strong reactions – and not just from representatives of Jewish organizations and democratic politicians.

– This is evil madness, Greene’s party colleague, Liz Cheney, writes Twitter.

Cheney was recently stripped of a leadership position in the party because she does not support Donald Trump’s untrue allegations of electoral fraud, and because she wants a settlement with the deadly attack on Congress on January 6.

Greene, for his part, appeared on his first day in Congress a few days before the attack with a bandage that read “Trump won,” and wholeheartedly supports Trump’s untrue allegations.

Cheney has warned that the Republican Party under Trump is heading in a “dangerous” direction. Another Trump critic in the Republican Party, Congressman Adam Kinzinger, is also reacting strongly.

– Completely sick, he writes Twitter.

Deprived of committee position

Greene belongs to the far right of the Republican Party and is closely linked to right-wing extremists and to the QAnon conspiracy theory of a satanic pedophilia. Nevertheless, she received support from then-President Trump during the election campaign.

After only a few weeks in Congress – at the end of February – Greene was stripped of all her committee duties because previous posts on social media indicated that she was advocating for the execution of democratic politicians.

Since then, she has been in several confrontations with democratic elected representatives. Most recently last week where she allegedly shouted aggressively at the AOC just outside the hall of Congress.

– You do not care about the American people. Why do you support terrorists and antifa? shouted Greene among other things, according to Washington Post.

Greene’s aggressive behavior prompted the AOC to react and demand better security in Congress.

In January, Democrat Cori Bush asked to be allowed to move to offices further away from Greene after a heated argument. Greene also got into trouble after putting up an anti-trans sign outside the office of Democrat Marie Newman. Newman has a daughter who is transgender.
